Full time is fine, but open to a candidate who wants more flexibility to work say only 4 days a week or e.g. 6 rather than 8 hours a day, that is fine too. The ideal person would be someone with only a few years’ experience in the legal job market, or even better, someone, with many years of experience with great, performance history and references who are simply looking to work a little less so they can pursue other interests on the side.  Requires someone who has been employed in a law firm before.  A college degree is desirable.  Speaking Spanish is a plus.

The firm has an excellent benefits program, including fully paid health, dental, and vision insurance, a 401(k) pension plan, and paid vacation.  The working environment is diverse and pleasant, with reasonable work hours, and attire is business casual.

Job Requirements:

Since it is a small and very busy firm with high profile clients, consummate professionalism, attention to detail, and excellent writing and technical support skills are a must.  Creative problem-solving skills and a passion for supporting progressive non-profits, activists, and artists through effective and excellent legal representation are essential.  The firm is heavily tech oriented and demonstrable mastery of Timeslips, QuickBooks, Outlook, Windows, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Pro, Facebook, LinkedIn, and Internet searches are required for the successful candidate.  Familiarity with basic legal terminology and civil procedure is important to being effective here.  The right candidate will be able to pull reports from QuickBooks and Timeslips and enter data into an Excel spreadsheet that helps analysis billing productivity and performance.  S/he will be able to use QuickBooks to help the firm create and stick with a budget.  S/he will have sufficient technical skills to help reduce outside tech support expenses.
